Credit Options from Pathways to Learning

Illinois State Board of Education

Pathways to Learning offers several credit options to participants enrolling in our courses.  Depending upon the nature of the course and the context within which it is offered, participants may choose to take the course for Graduate Credit, In-District Credit, or Continuing Education Credit (CEUs).

GRADUATE CREDIT

Pathways to Learning cooperates with several school

districts to serve as the Collaborating Academic Partners of Aurora University.  Three semester hour graduate credits per course may be earned through the  University.

Participants desiring graduate credit register with us for the credit option on the first day of class.   Requirements are personalized from an extensive variety of choices and include participation, reflective inquiry, and practical application.   Final work is submitted to the instructors one week after the last class session.

The University  requires the assignment of grades at the completion of each course.  Assessment is an on-going process throughout the course and is supported by self-assessment and instructor assessment based on rubrics developed for each course.

Two complementary official transcripts are issued by the University in a timely manner after grades are submitted.

AURORA UNIVERSITY

Located in Aurora, Illinois, Aurora University is fully accredited and approved by North Central Association.

Visit the University's School of Education website by clicking on their logo above.

A certificate of completion is issued by Pathways to Learning on the last day of class.

Detailed information concerning tuition fees is available on the registration pages and for Graduate Credit is currently $575.00 per course with an "early-bird" reduction to $550.00.

IN-DISTRICT CREDIT

Some districts provide in-district credit to those who

complete courses offered by Pathways to Learning.

These credits are typically pass-fail and are based on personalized requirements that include participation, reflective inquiry, and practical application.   A certificate of completion is issued by Pathways to Learning on the last day of class and a roster of completion is forwarded to participating districts.

The tuition fee for this option is $350.00, reduced to $325 for those who register early.

CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT

Pathways to Learning is an approved

provider of Continuing Education Credits, (CEUs), for certified educators in the State of Illinois.   The condensed syllabi in our Course web pages identify the relevant State Standards.  Additional information may be obtained by visiting the Illinois Board of Education State Standards website, or by  going to the home page of the Board of Education from the link at the top of this page.

Participants who attend our summer institute can earn 9 CEUs for full participation in each one-week course.  An evidence of completion form is issued to participants by Pathways to Learning on the last day of class.  The tuition for this option is $350, reduced to $325 upon early registration.
