Parent Education from Pathways to Learning

Pathways to Learning offers opportunities for parents to explore new points of view for helping their children live more respectfully, responsibly, and cooperatively.

It is our principal goal to give parents a framework for understanding some basic effective parenting skills and to help them devise practical strategies for applying those skills to their own particular situations.

We offer parent education in a variety of formats which accommode different levels of time commitment and parental needs.

Our most frequently used format is the overview session for parent-teacher organizations.

Participants learn ways of balancing the kind-firm challenges of parenting, listening to their children, encouraging them, setting age-appropriate limits, holding them accountable for their choices, and resolving conflicts peacefully.

In response to the practical age-appropriate examples of the participants, emphasis is placed on short-circuiting and redirecting inappropriate behavior.

Beyond the overview sessions, specific sessions and/or a series of sessions focus on a variety of topics related to the day-to-day challenges of parenting, the learning needs of students, and networking with schools.

If you wish to know more about our programs for parents, or receive information about our courses please Email us or fill in the request forms on the contact us page on this website.
