Each district, school, team has unique challenges as it works to fulfill its mission in serving students.  We have breadth and depth of consulting experience as we personalize our support of teams and individuals who request our expertise to address identified needs.

Consulting services vary according to specified needs and involve a range of possibilities: on-site troubleshooting, observations, conferencing, coaching, demonstrations, and follow-up support that is a call or click away.  Time options are flexible; fees are individually negotiated.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT and COURSES
with Graduate and Continuing Education Credit


We have an impressive track-record offering courses and professional development sessions to help educators support the learning of their students.  These services are grounded in theory, are widely-recognized for hands-on practical applications, and result in action plans that showcase data-informed results.

Credits:  Pathways to Learning is an approved provider for Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) from the Illinois State Board of Education and is also an approved provider of graduate credit offerings from Aurora University.  Graduate credit options vary from 1-3 semester hours; 1 CEU is available for every 5 hours of interaction.

Topics:  Course/professional development areas are tailored to meet individual needs of hosting educators and are centered about the topics detailed on the Expertise page.  Sample syllabi are available upon request.


Sites/Dates/Fees:  We are available throughout the school year as well as during the summer, days and/or evenings, to schools/districts who wish to host the offerings at their facility.  Dates are flexible.  Fees are negotiated depending on the services requested.  This option replaces the regional Pathways to Learning Institutes offered from 1981-2010.  If any hosting districts choose to open up their offerings to those outside the district, we will post notice of these offerings on our website and to those who have requested to receive notification of such.

_ COUNSELING
Individuals, Parents, Families

Louise M. Jacobs continues to provide counseling services at her office in Deerfield, IL.  Hundreds of clients have taken advantage of these services over the years, strengthening the network of the family, bridging home-school communication, addressing behavior and/or learning issues of students, coaching individuals to reach their personal goals.  Fees are flexible and negotiated individually.



PARENT EDUCATION

Pathways to Learning supports parents in their efforts to raise respectful, responsible, cooperative youths.  Participants learn ways of balancing the kind-firm challenges of parenting, listening to and communicating with their children, encouraging them, setting age-appropriate limits, holding them accountable for and helping them learn from their choices, and resolving conflicts peacefully.  See our Expertise page for discussion of relevant topics.



FORMATS OF DELIVERY

  We offer sessions in a variety of formats to accommodate different time commitments and needs.  We frequently present to parent-teacher organizations and parent universities and are available for a single session or a series.  Fees are flexible and negotiated individually.
